Head of Sales


OrbitalAds is looking for a Head of Sales to join our fast-growing startup based in Madrid, Spain. The company is a leader in SW tools that help large on-line advertisers manage their GoogleAds Search campaigns. Our SaaS solution, based on a monthly fee for the client, allows SEM campaign managers to be much more productive and effective at keywords management, leveraging proprietary AI technology that analyses millions of terms to inform keywords management.

She/He will be in charge of expanding and leading the Sales Team, responsible of generating sales achieving our high growth targets worldwide, with initial focus on Europe and the Americas. Will be responsible to optimize our sales process and playbook, hire and train new team members. Will also be defining high-level strategy and assuring achieve and exceed the sales objectives within different markets.

The successful candidate will work closely with product, marketing teams and client success (pre and post-sales support) teams to deliver on our ambitious business plan.

We are seeking a collaborative leader, a results-oriented problem solver, and a business-builder with a customer-first mindset.

Job description:

Accountable for sales generated and co-responsible for recurring revenues.

Manage the teams generating sales: direct sales team (Sales Development Representatives generating leads +Account Executives closing contracts) + partnerships team (mainly sales through advertising agencies).


Initial focus:

Lead design and implementation of new sales process, both direct and partnerships, including sales support systems and KPIs tracking.

Hire and train new members of the team.


On-going responsibilities:

Insure the needed amount of new leads each month.

Insure the quality of qualification of new leads.

Achieve target conversion rates and other sales KPIs (qualified lead to 1st meeting with account executives, conversion into presented offers and signed clients, average monthly fee).

Insure smooth transition of new clients into Client Success responsibility.

Help Client Success team reduce churn and achieve win backs.

Close collaboration withProduct and Client Success (post-sales support) teams to identify customer insights relevant for the product roadmap and to insure loyalty and growth of existing customers.

Part of the extended management team of OrbitalAds Requirements.


Desired profile:

Results oriented; sales KPIs planning and follow up skills.

Problem solving oriented, good at working with others to find and implement solutions.

Resilience to frustration while service offering and organization are fine-tuned. Good at selecting, managing and motivating team.

Good command of sales support systems and techniques.

International business oriented.


Ideal past experience / qualifications:

Build (or participated in building) a sales team achieving high-growth KPIs in a similar B2B digital business.

Over 5 years of B2B sales experience.

Over 3 years of sale teams management.

Excellent command of English, at least basic command of Spanish, other languages (in particular French and German) appreciated.

Past responsibilities for sales in Europe and/or North America markets.

Specific knowledge of the on-line advertising business is a plus.

Degree level qualifications in Business / Economics / Intl studies highly appreciated but not a must; MBA is a plus.
